Old School Cleaning Tips and Ideas for Businesses and Families

Keeping your home or business clean can be challenging, but over the years of keeping a shop clean and cleaning my house, I have learned a lot about cleaning. I've learned how to clean in order to impress clients, and I've learned how to keep my house clean in spite of children bringing in dirt and mess all the time. I love to write so decided to start this blog. Here, I am going to share a range of cleaning tips with an emphasis on the "old school", homemade or natural tips. However, sometimes, truthfully, you need chemicals and professionals so I will also delve into those topics. Thanks for reading and good luck with cleaning.

Questions to Ask About an Office Strip Out

Marta Vicente

An office strip out refers to the full removal of everything in an office, from old furniture and desks to carpeting and ceiling tiles. Having an office strip out done can give you a blank footprint needed for remodeling the office, opening up the space, putting up walls to create new suites, and the like. Before you hire any company for an office strip out job, note a few important questions to ask so you know what's included and ensure you hire the right company.

1. Can they remove kitchen appliances and bathroom fixtures?

Don't assume that an office strip out company can remove kitchen appliances or bathroom fixtures, or anything connected to plumbing. Even if you have the water shut off to the location, this work involves capping off the pipes and lines to the fixtures and appliances, and this may be outside the area of expertise of some strip out companies. They may also have a limit as to the types of large items they remove, and something like a full-size refrigerator or stove may not be included. Always ask if you need to have a kitchen or bathroom included in the strip out and note if this means an extra fee as well.

2. What is included in rubbish removal?

A strip out company may remove desks and electronics as well as carpeting and ceiling tiles, but may not remove actual rubbish. If employees in an office have not emptied their trash or there is a kitchen with full garbage cans, these may need to be handled by another company. This is typically because an office strip out company will take their items to a recycling center or other station that doesn't handle food waste, and they may even store such items offsite for many days before visiting such a facility, so they cannot accommodate such trash.

3. Can they assist with needed permits?

Very often an office strip out will require the use of rubbish bins that are kept on the property and you may need permits for these. A strip out company may be able to obtain these permits themselves or they may be able to assist you with knowing where to file for such permits and how to obtain the necessary paperwork for the job to begin. Don't assume they'll provide the permits for the job but ask how that is handled so you know if you need to get assistance with permits elsewhere.
